One of the stand out tow cars in 2023 is the VW Tiguan and the latest model remains an excellent driving vehicle. For those who find the price of the BMW too high or regularly caravan on rally tracks, the Volkswagen Tiguan can be a good choice.

The VW did not beat the authority of the BMW 3 Series in our lane change test, but it showed itself to be stable, confident, and controlled. At high speeds in a straight line, the Tiguan was slightly more affected by strong winds than the BMW, but the data from the Al-Ko ATC system shows nothing dramatic.

There are many more powerful cars in this class, but the Volkswagen doesn't feel overwhelmed. The time from 30 to 60 miles per hour of 16.6 seconds is solid, and the Tiguan would reach 70 miles per hour in strong headwinds.

In normal driving, the Tiguan is comfortable, with a well-dosed suspension tuning that finds a balanced compromise between comfort and agility.

With a few reservations, the practitioners were just as satisfied as the drivers, thanks to the equipment with trailer stability control, a comprehensive manual, and enough luggage space for almost all the holiday luggage of our typical family.

Although it was the higher-end R-Line version that was tested, we would recommend saving about £2000 by choosing the SE model.
