The model history of the SEAT Ateca is quickly told. It was not until 2016 that the Ateca was announced as the brand's first SUV model and presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Thus began the success story of the Ateca, whose orders had to be suspended barely six months later because the entire year's quota had already been sold out.
In the following year too, long delivery times had to be accepted at the Ateca. In addition to the high demand, this was also due to the fact that the SEAT was manufactured in the Skoda plant in parallel with the Skoda Kodiaq and the now discontinued Skoda Yeti, which slowed down the production process.
The first facelift finally took place in August 2020 and mainly included visual changes to the front end. These include narrower headlights, a larger radiator grille and enlarged side air intakes, which all together create a sportier look. Nothing has changed at the production site to date. Kodiaq and Ateca are still using the capacities of the Czech plant in Kvasiny to this day.
